Safety Instructions

  1. Operators must be trained and qualified.
  2. Be sure that the generating unit is properly grounded by connecting it either to a water pipe or by driving a grounding rod into the moist earth and attaching it to the generator with a ground wire.
  3. Do not run engine in any enclosed or confined space.
  4. Be sure that the generator is on secure level ground so that it cannot slide or shift around, endangering workers. Also keep the immediate area free of all bystanders.
  5. Avoid touching the hot exhaust manifold, muffler or cylinder. Keep clear of all moving parts.
  6. Do not refill the fuel tank until the engine has been stopped and has cooled off.
  7. Check operating fluids every four hours.
  8. Maintain electrical cords in good condition. Worn, bare, of frayed wiring can cause electric shock.
  9. Do not operate near combustible materials or in an explosive atmosphere. An explosion or fire may result.
  10. Do not operate the generator, or handle any electrical equipment while standing in water, while barefoot, while hands are wet, or in the rain. Dangerous or deadly shock may result.
